Ganoderma tsugae Murrill

Description:

The surface of this common annual appears to be covered in a shiny reddish-brown varnish. In age the surface usually wrinkles and the entire form becomes fan-shaped. Almost always found on decaying hemlock. Ganoderma lucidum is found on hardwoods. Ganoderma curtisii is a southern US species.
